What's the Big Deal
My important achievements are I got into the olympics when I was 16 years old. I also was the first american woman to win three gold medals in the track and field events. I set two worlds records in the 100meter and 200meter dash. People remember me because I am determined and I am an inspiration to others.

My Childhood

I was born prematured, so I had many diseses and sicknesses as a child. Most of the time I was at home sick because of that. My dad is a railroad porter and handyman, and my mother is a maid and cook for wealthy people. I did not start school until I was seven years old. Since I had polio at a young age I had to wear a leg brace everday to help correct my leg. When I was nine years old I didn't have to wear a leg brace anymore. After that I played basketball with my brothers. Then I joined the basketball team in middle school.
My LIfe
My name is Wilma Rudolph. I became an Olympic Track runner when I was 16 years old. I was born with polio. I couldn't walk well until I was 11 years old.
